ABOUT THE APARTMENT

The Castle Harbour apartment complex is a modern well-maintained development with excellent amenities. It is located a short distance away from the sea and the centre of Los Cristianos. Its position allows for easy access to the centres nightlife, but offers a quiet and relaxing refuge during the day.

The complex is surrounded by a variety of restaurants that cater for all tastes. It has use of the nearly Beverly Hills complex which offers squash, tennis, bowling, children's activities plus nightly entertainment and dancing.

Our apartment is spacious, in a penthouse position and has 1 bedroom (2 single beds), 2 bathrooms, new comfortable double bed settee in lounge area which could accommodate a further 2 people. Also 2 comfortable Z-beds can be utilised.

This is a family apartment. When we go we usually order a car at the airport and keep it for the week. Cost is approximately £130 but taxis are plentiful and very cheap. A taxi costs about £15 from the airport. The is a VERY EASY drive to Castle Harbour and we can supply a detailed map with booking - it takes about 10 minutes directly on the direct local motorway door to door.

ABOUT TENERIFE

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, which consists of seven small volcanic islands, just off the coast of Northern Africa. Tenerife is situated on the same latitude as Florida and Hawaii. Average daily temperatures are in the mid seventies and normally this persists 12 months of the year. Rainfall is sparse and a gentle Atlantic breeze makes even the very high temperatures, entirely bearable.

The volcanic geology greets you as a pleasant change. Marine life is plentiful, varied and friendly. You can feed eagle stingrays and turtles by hand on one of the many great dive locations including two good wrecks, one being a fishing trawler which went down in 28 metres of water. Water temperatures vary from 23^oC - 25^oC in the summer and 19^oC - 20^oC in the winter. Full wet suits are recommended or a 5-7mm semi-dry. Dry suits can be worn but only in the winter months.

ABOUT THE RESORT

Los Cristianos can be found on the southern coast of Tenerife and situated in a sheltered bay, provides an ideal family resort. The town has a history as a small fishing village that predates its fame as a tourist resort. The old town centre, complete with Catholic Church, stretches from the port up to the main shopping street Avenida de Suecia. The centre is entirely pedestrianised which allows people to wander and browse the shops in comfort without having to worry about dodging the traffic. This part of town is still a residential area in which many of the town's local Canarian population still live. In the port you will still find an active fleet of small fishing boats and depending on the time of year you can see international yachts of all shapes and sizes. It is possible to catch the ferry and hydrofoil from Los Cristianos that depart daily to the islands of La Gomera, Le Palma and El Hierro. These three islands together with Tenerife make up the autonomous Spanish province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The Castle Harbour apartment are located in a quiet elevated position and benefits from being within 10 minutes walking distance of one of the best beaches on the island. Just a short taxi ride away is the livelier neighbouring resort of Playa Las Americas. Those looking for all night entertainment will be amazed at the choice of bars, restaurants, shows and clubs.

THE ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is on a self-catering basis in a spacious one bedroomed (twin beds) apartment suitable for 2/4 people. It is situated on the 7th floor overlooking the pool but with nearly lifts providing easy access to the pool and the rest of the complex.

The apartment has a balcony furnished with tables and chairs. Two full bathrooms with bath/shower, washbasin and WC. The kitchenette is fully equipped for self-catering needs with cooking facilities, a fridge and the usual kitchen utensils. The bedroom has twin single beds and wardrobe space. The spacious lounge/dining room has a sofa bed, which can take two adults. There is also a TV on which a range of English channels show, and a fully stocked video library with more than 50 titles.
