Carl Montgomery meets Mark Webber at Red Bull

Carl and Vern of the 24GYM team visited the Red Bull Team at their tyre testing in Silverstone UK, where they were able to get close-up to the machines and mechanics within the Red Bull team. Mark Webber is truly a nice guy, he made time to come over and talk with us and a gave us a warm welcome even though he was working. Despite all the hype and glamour given to Red Bull and Formula One, Mark was a down-to-earth decent guy. We got a close up view and better understanding of how the pit crew worked as a team. There is a great deal of hard work with each person fitting in as a link to a chain, the stronger the links the stronger the chain. All pulling to get Mark and David (Couthald) as far up the constructors’ and drivers’ leader board.

We learned that to be on top of your game your team have to work together, help each other and to get others to reach their goal, and not be discouraged because you’re not seen as a key-player because you’re behind the scenes but let another carry the winning result for everyone else’s combined efforts. We help our members and we help as a team, using science and discipline.
